Show Time!

Today we went to the Forsyth Barr Stadium to rehearse for the show tonight.  We can wait to perform for everyone.  Children please remember to be at the stadium at 6.30pm in your costume (black shorts/leggings and your yellow & white t-shirts).

Fun with Glockenspiel

This afternoon we had lots of fun playing the glockenspiels.  We played 'I Wanna CCC' then 'The Cabbage Cafe'.  Mrs McCulley was very impressed with all the talented children in Room 11.

Learning Commitment Goals

We would like to have all of the Learning Commitment Goals completed and shared by the 1st of December.  Please see Mrs Smith or Mrs McCulley as soon as possible to book in a time to share.

Salote's Learning Commitment

Today Salote shared a wonderful presentation about her time in Tonga earlier in the year.  Salote's presentation was very interesting and she delivered it with humour and enthusiasm.  Awesome stuff, Salote.

Freaky Fish Animal Reports

Over the past week, we have been researching information about 'Freaky Fish'.  On Friday we presented our reports using Book Creator on the iPads.  The final reports are published on our class Google site.  Please have a look at them as the children did a fantastic job!

Farewell to Miss Cochrane

Sadly we had to say goodbye to Miss Cochrane on Friday.  Miss Cochrane has been a fantastic College Teacher in Room 11 and we will miss her!  We wish her all the best with her teacher training.

Learning about fractions

Over the last few weeks we have been learning about fractions.  We have completed lots of fun activities and even got to use playdough!

Miss Cochrane teaches us about plastic

Today Miss Cochrane prepared a fantastic lesson for us about plastic.  We found out how long it takes for plastic to decompose.  Have a look at how long these items take.  We were amazed (and a bit sad for our environment!)

Plastic Container - 50 years!
Gladwrap - 30 years!
Nappy - 450 years!!!!

Production Costumes

Production Costumes

As you may already know Room 11 and 16 will be in our Middle Team part of the School Production on 29^th November.  This will be held at Forsyth Barr Stadium, in the evening.

The children will be wearing two t-shirts, one white and one yellow/gold/lemon.  They will also be wearing black shorts or black leggings that are no longer than knee length. They will wear the yellow t-shirt over the white t-shirt and take it off for their second item.

Can you look through your child’s t-shirts and shorts/leggings and find items that would fit these colours, then send them to school in a named bag in the next week or two?

PLEASE DO NOT BUY ANY ITEMS JUST FOR THIS PRODUCTION.  We have access to a limited amount of suitable clothing if your child does not have anything to wear, but please let us know early next week so that we can arrange it for you.
