Athletics Day

The George Street Normal Athletic Sports Day will be held on Thursday 18th of October - Week 1 of next term (postponement date: Wednesday 24th of October - Week 2).  All of the children will be participating in high jump, long jump, sprints, hurdles, relays, discus, shot put, distance races and an obstacle course.  We will be at the Calendonian  grounds for the day.  Parents are most welcome to come and support us.

Homework Activity - Design a Dream House

Shared Lunch

Today we had our shared lunch to wish Tvishaa and Eyimofe well when they leave George Street Normal to live overseas.  What a feast we had!  Thank you to everyone who provided food and best of luck Tvishaa and Eyimofe - we will miss you!

Middle Team Choir Visits the Rest Home

Today the members of the Middle Team Choir visited Woodhaugh Rest Home to sing to the residents and join them for a chat and afternoon tea.  Well done to all the children who sang beautifully and were kind and friendly to the rest home residents.

Shared Lunch this Friday

Tvishaa will be finishing at George Street Normal School this Friday to move to Australia and Eyimofe will be moving to Canada at the end of the term.  We will miss Tvishaa and Eyimofe!    To wish them well, we will be having a shared lunch on Friday 21st of September.  Please bring along a small plate of food to share.  Thank you!

Athletic Sports

This afternoon we started our athletic sports rotation.  We had lots of fun trying out the hurdles with Mrs McCulley and doing relays with Mrs Phillips.  Over the next few weeks we will also get to try long jump, discus, shot put and high jump.  We will be having athletics every Thursday afternoon until the end of the term.  Please remember to wear sensible shoes!

Calendar Art

At the start of the term we studied a famous artist called Hundertwasser.  We were inspired by his use of colour and the interesting shapes he used.  Mrs King helped us to create awesome pictures for our calendar art.  You will be able to order your child's artwork soon.

Room 11 Assembly - coming to a stage near you soon!!!

Room 11 is 'Class of the Week' and will be performing on stage at the next school assembly (Friday 14th of September).  We would love to invite all our friends and family to come and watch us.  We have started practising and look forward to sharing our highlights of Term 3 with you.

Telling the Time

We have now finished our time topic and will begin learning about area later on in the week.  Parents, if you could keeping quizzing your children and helping them to practise their new learning that would be great!
