Super Hero of the Week #4

Our fourth super hero of the term is Rui.  Rui is new to George Street Normal and has only been in our class for a few weeks.  Rui has exceptional manners and works quickly and quietly when completing her learning tasks.  Keep up the great work Rui.  It is great to have you in Room 11.

Super Hero of the Week #3

Our third super hero this term is Eshaal.  Thank you Eshaal for being such a kind person and always using your manners.

Buddy Time

Today we visited our buddies in Kindle 1.  We listened to our little buddies read and then used to iPads to retell the stories in their books.

Middle Team Electives

The children from Room 9, 10 and 11 started Electives today.  Every week the children will be involved in a number of fun learning activities including art and craft, cooking, sports, S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Mathematics), Chinese language, construction and drawing.

Maths Time with Mrs Smith

We have been learning about multiplication arrays in Maths this term.  

James is investigating a square number – 6x6 = 36

Justine and Sachi are making an array for the number 24.  They have made 8 groups of 3

or 3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3 =24 or 8 x 3 = 24

Todd is making an array with 36 counters.  He has made 9 groups of 4 or 4+4+4+4+4+4+4+4+4= 36

or 9x4 = 36

Seb has made a square number from 36.  He has shown 6+6+6+6+6+6 = 36 or 6x6=36

Super Hero of the Week #2

Congratulations to our latest superhero, Carlin.  Carlin always greets his teachers with a smile in the morning and works hard to get all of his work completed.  Awesome stuff Carlin!

Book Week

This week we had a lot of fun celebrating 'Book Week'.  We were busy decorating our door with alliteration posters and dressed up as our favourite book character on Friday.

Super Hero of the Week #1

Our first super hero of the term is Justine.  Justine displays the George Street Normal character values and tries very hard to complete all of her schoolwork.  Well done Justine!

Welcome to Term 2

Welcome to Term 2!  We have started the term with a celebration of books.  Each day this week, different teachers from the Middle Team read us stories after lunch.  We are also going to be decorating our door with a book theme, participating in the Read-a-thon and dressing up as a book character next Friday.  What fun!
